University House Prospective Member Night

Enjoy the hospitality of University House at our "Open House"

Join us at this free prospective member night. All attendees are eligible to sign up to receive a free month trial membership.

On the night

There will be canapés, wine, and prominent members to welcome you into the Club. Join us on a tour, peruse our award winning wine lists, experience our function and dining rooms and learn about our membership rights such as international reciprocal club access.

About University House

The Club maintains two venues: University House Professors' Walk, housed in a beautifully restored Victorian Era home featuring large and small function spaces, and University House at the Woodward, situated on level 10 of the Melbourne Law School offering world class conference facilities. The University of Melbourne alumni and staff club offers these exclusive spaces and events for academics, professional staff and alumni.

Enjoy a month long trial, and a lifetime of outstanding facilities, services and community.

Relax, connect and celebrate

We are a sanctuary away from the bustle of the university and the city of Melbourne. Read the paper while resting on one of our comfortable couches, or if wine appeals more, have a chat over a glass with fellow members in our garden courtyard. Our friendly staff will make you comfortable while you enjoy a coffee at one of our cafes, host a lunch in a dining room, or event in our functions rooms. There are regular events such as our weekly jazz night, wine and whisky tastings, our annual truffle and recital dinners, sparkling masterclass and weekly book club.

A place to meet interesting people

As the social heart of the university, University House offers a unique atmosphere to network with fellow Alumni and current staff of the University. Attend our monthly “in-conversation” nights, and hear from some of the University’s most prominent and distinguished leaders, giving you an insight into their careers and life’s work.

Wine events to suit any palate

For the wine enthusiast, we have tastings, and events throughout the year. Our wine lists have received numerous awards and are included in the Australian Wine List Awards Hall of Fame.
